Is general admission at Red Rocks assigned seating? ›

Red Rocks is a general admission venue, meaning seating or standing room is first come first serve. Some concerts, however, may have special seating available.

Widespread Panic holds the record for the most sold-out performances at Red Rocks, with 72 as of June 2024.

The seating capacity is upwards of 9000 seats, each one offering stunning views. The venue consistently draws a big-name line-up for its summer concert series. To see your favorite singer got to work on the stage is to witness a performance in one of the most exceptional music venues in the world.

The average Red Rocks Amphitheatre ticket costs $115 , but prices may vary depending on who is playing.

The venue's eclectic lineup is also accompanied by “Film on the Rocks,” weekly screenings of popular movies that begin at dusk. How are the seats? A steep pitch and impressive views mean that there's hardly a bad seat at Red Rocks, although windy nights can diminish the sound quality up top.

So GA1 may just account for the first 500 tickets, GA2 for the second 500 tickets, but its just to keep count.

There are concerts most nights in the summer, but you can still access all of the trails and even the actual amphitheater in the morning. Just be aware of the time, as it will get quite busy once all of the concert goers show up. The trading post trail is a fantastic loop around some gorgeous rock formations.

Ample free parking is available on-site, ensuring a hassle-free experience for concertgoers. Attendees may sometimes leave their cars parked until 10 a.m. the day after the event. Parking lots at Red Rocks open approximately two hours before the event start time.

How early should you get to Red Rocks for a concert? ›

Parking lots open for shows 2 hours before event door time. We recommend arriving early to avoid traffic and ensure you have plenty of time to get to the venue. There is plenty of parking in our many lots, but we encourage you to carpool or use a rideshare service when possible.

Note that we have updated our bag policy: multi-pocket bags are not permitted. Single-pocket bags no larger than 13” wide, 15” tall and 8” deep can be brought into the amphitheatre. Small purses and fanny packs that are 6″ x 9″ or smaller, as well as hydration packs 2L or smaller, are also allowed.

The beauty of the red sandstone monoliths, the exceptional sound quality, and the memorable atmosphere combine to create an experience that is truly unparalleled. So, while the expense may be slightly higher, the value and memories created at Red Rocks can far surpass that of a typical concert venue.

Ticketing. Red Rocks primarily uses AXS for ticketing services. Tickets can be purchased online or, if not sold out, at the box office. AXS Mobile Delivery is the preferred admission method at Red Rocks.

Concessions at Red Rocks

Concession stands with food and drink options are located throughout the amphitheatre and Visitor Center. Food options include but are not limited to chicken fingers, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, pretzels, pizza, candy and chips.

Venues usually have "reserved seating or allocated seating." This means you are given a row and a seat number and therefore know before the event where you will be seated. You must remain in the seat allocated to you throughout the event. You are unable to sit in a different seat or row.

Every seat at Red rocks is numbered, and if you have a reserved seat that seat is 100% yours. If somebody else is sitting there, just ask a security guy and they'll fix it right away. Having reserved seats in VIP is great, but read the room. If it's not packed down there don't tell someone to move out of your seat.

Stick to single pocket bags and clear bags no larger than 13" x 15" x 8" or small purses and fanny packs that are 6" x 9" or smaller. Empty, reusable water bottles of less than 32 ounces, as well as empty hydration packs (up to 2 liters in size), ARE allowed.
